Guidelines for Abstract submission
An abstract submission is required for presenting either a contributed talk or a poster. Abstracts should be uploaded via the Abstract Submission System. Once in the Abstract Submission System, please follow the instructions given.
Abstract Guidelines
- Abstracts related to all aspects related to systematic, phylogeny, biogeography, ecology, evolution, and conservation on animal species in the eastern Mediterranean region are welcome in the format of oral or poster presentation.
- Only abstracts submitted through the online submission system will be accepted.
- Abstracts must contain original material, not published or presented at any other international meeting prior to the 15th ICZEGAR. Only abstracts in English will be accepted.
- All abstracts for the 15th ICZEGAR must be submitted on-line through the Abstract Submission System. Please retain your assigned number as a reference for future communication.
- Please indicate whether you prefer an oral or poster presentation.
- Abstracts submitted should include the following information: introduction and aim, materials and methods, results and discussion.
- Deadline for submission of abstracts: 15 September 2022.
- Each abstract will be reviewed by the members of the scientific committee. A limited number of abstracts will be selected for oral presentation and a larger number will be accepted for poster presentation.
- Acceptance of abstracts will be advised to the submitting author by 16 September 2022. The notification of acceptance will be sent by e-mail. If an abstract is accepted, at least one of the authors must attend the meeting (through registration) and present it in person. The presenting author of an accepted abstract must register and pay the registration fee. Final notification indicating the day and time of their presentation and providing information on procedures for check in at the Congress speakers’ desk will be available on the website by 28 September 2022.
- Personal computers and laptops are not recommended; all presenters are encouraged to use the congress equipment provided. Microsoft PowerPoint presentations must be on a USB drive.
- Presenting authors are responsible for all costs related to travel and attendance to the meeting unless otherwise agreed with the congress organisers.
Abstract Format
- We recommend using this file as a template for your abstract.
- The abstract should be written in English using Times New Roman font , single spaced, 12 point for the title, author(s) name(s) and main body text, 11 point for author's affiliations and keywords.
- The abstract should contain text only – do not include graphs, pictures or tables.
- The title of the abstract should be in bold type.
- Authors’ names should be written in full, surname or family name last, and the presenter’s name should be underlined. Authors’ names should be separated by commas and marked with a superscript when necessary to distinguish different affiliations.
- Authors' affiliation (institute, address) should be included. Please avoid abbreviations of country names except for those in very common usage, such as UAE, UK, USA. The presenting author’s email address should be included in italics and marked with an asterisk.
- Abstract text should be a single paragraph and should not exceed 250 words. Up to six keywords NOT in the title may be added at the bottom of the abstract.
Posters
Ideal poster dimensions will be either 59,4 x 84 cm (A1, portrait format) or 84 x 119 cm (A0), the poster board dimensions are 90 x 200 cm (width x height). Posters will be grouped into topical sessions. Adequate mounting supplies will be available at the Conference Centre. The poster session will be on Friday 14th of October 17:15 - 19:15, beginning with short online presentations, for those presenting a poster by web attendance, followed by the on-site poster session.
